These two shots were separated into two main elements: The background explosion and the foreground artistes. For the background plate MACDYNE engineered a live action explosion in a Hertfordshire manor house. This was then digitized into the computer and the explosion was enhanced and doubled for a greater impact. Also 3D shattering glass and wooden doorframes were added into the composite. Due to health and safety the foreground element of the artistes was shot separately, on the same day under the same conditions.
