The ‘Face Off” scene was photographed as three plates. Two plates of each artiste were shot in the before and after positions. Then a third plate was shot of artiste 2 ripping a prosthetic mask of artiste 1 from her head. Only the under side of the prosthetic mask is seen in the shot. The two plates of the artistes were intricately rotoscoped together to form the impression that one was being torn from another.
